Sun Roof Issue
Hi guys!
I have been having a sunroof issue. It won't open all the way. So I disassembled according to the video here (http://w210.pietrzyk.net/disassembly_77glasspanel.htm). What I found was the rails seem to be binding in the track due to lack of lubrication and grime buildup. I also found out that they weren't kidding when they said that the little yellow clips will break!
So here are the question:
1: what do the stealerships lube the tracks with?
2: Anybody know the part number for the yellow clippy-do's on the riser arms?
Thanks,
Drew

Hi guys!
Just wanted to post a follow up. I found the grease in small quantities from the guys at Buy MB Parts. Add a dot com and take out the spaces and you have their site. They charged me $10 for a tin that is about 1.75oz. It will probably last me about 10 years. I spread a little bit on the rails and man, what a difference. Everything works great now.

hey TNT...awesome, I was wondering about this. thanks for the link and the product referral. is it dangerous if it spreads to areas other than the rails? do you need to do anything special to get at ALL the areas (besides making sure the moonroof is back, of course) that require lubrication? mine makes a sound when putting it in the title position but seems mostly smooth when going back and forth. still, i'd like to get this done soon and will buy some of that grease.

As for quantity I made sure to coat as much as I could wherever the rods would slide. I may have used too much but I don't think so as the rails were bone dry. I had disassembled the the unit and gotten in there with a good degreaser. Google those guys and hit them up. The tin is $10.00 plus $2.00 shipping.
