Are you ready to spend about $5k or more to do this. I hear the unit retails for over $3k at the dealer.
A guy named John did it at a reasonable price but he sourced his Comand unit from Germany:

COMAND Retrofit
I'm looking at a similar situation for my 2001 E430. Just won a German E-Bay auction for a COMAND 2.0 unit. I should receive it within the next couple of weeks.
I know there are various other parts I need to obtain (and the link to the other forum was most helpful). Does anyone know the MB part number for the COMAND wiring harness? Though it may be a bit more $$$ to buy it outright, I figure it's easier to just get it and put it in, rather than try to make it myself.

Thanks Mark!
This may sound silly....but I'm doing the COMAND install AFTER doing a Pioneer NAV system. The NAV works great, but I/m really getting annoyed with the flip-up screen blocking out access to the other controls on the console. I moved the Becker radio unit to the bottom DIN opening (where the storage bin USED to be!), and put the fold-out screen in the slot where the radio used to be. Works great, except for the restrictions....I have to retract the screen to change settings on the A/C, etc.
Plus, it can be a real pain to control the Pioneer unit with the little remote that came with it. It's always falling off the seat when I turn a corner, etc. So, I'm anxious to get the steering wheel controls, and the phone, and the voice-recognition, etc. all integrated.
One of the reasons I opted for a German COMAND is I might want to keep the Pioneer NAV unit in the trunk, and use the COMAND display to view it. I think I would need the TV capability that the European units have. I'm not sure if I'd need the TV tuner unit that's available over there. Guess I'll find out....
Some would say I'm crazy for going to all this trouble...I say I just like a challenge! If they're not that type of person, then they just don't understand!
Rich
P.S. I also have one of the folding mirror units functioning...Way cool! This is a project I've been working on for a while...(thanks to Mike v.d. Ven)

Need Help Installing Command in 2000 E320 Wagon
I have purchased a Command Head unit for my 2000 E320 4Matic wagon. The car has Bose, Heated Seats, HL Washers, Xenon, 6 disc CD Changer, etc.
My question is, I know I will need to replace the wood bezel, but what else is involved and what parts/wiring harnesses/antenna/etc. will I need to complete this?
Or, are all the wires, antennas, etc already there? I am assuming I will also need a mounting bracket once I remove the factory Bose radio and flip up storage compartment underneath.
Is the balance of the Bose system left in the car going to be compatible with the New Command unit? (Speakers Amps, Plug-in connectors, etc.????)
Thanks for your help (BTW: this is my first time posting to the list)

I can answer you questions.
Hello quys,
I have posted the retrofit pictures and discussion in www.benzworld.org under John J Since the golf season is over, I am going to finish my half-finish installation guide. I did the retrofit in my 2002 E55 in Jan 2002 and it has work flawlessly since. Feel free to email me with any questions and I will check back daily at this forum for update.

Adding Pioneer Navigation and keeping stock radio
Hi PA28150,
You mentioned you installed a Pioneer Navigation system and also kept the stock radio in the slot below. I am considering doing the same and is just wondering how do you connect both the Pioneer Navigation and the stock radio to the Bose speakers at the same time? Is this possible? I kinda want to keep the stock radio too so I can keep the 6 disc cd changer in the trunk and also watch DVD with the Pioneer.
If yo play a music cd thru the Pioneer thru the same speakers, is the sound quality better than the stock stereo? Is the wattage on the pioneer greater than the stock radio?
Thanks
Ed

Ed,
The Pioneer NAV system is only that - a Nav system. It's not connected to the factory speakers. The audio system functions as it always has. The only difference is that the Becker unit is in the lower slot.

forgot to mention....
The speaker for the navigation system (for voice prompts and directions) is mounted on the right side of the driver's footwell, next to the center console housing. I adjusted the volume so I can hear the audible driving instructions above any sound coming from the car's audio system.

Need Part number for GPS Splitter and Antenna Cable/Wire
Does anyone know the correct part numbers for the GPS antenna cable and splitter? I understand that the cable I need comes from a W203 Sedan, and the splitter should be from a W210 - please advise - thanks!

Speaker for Pioneer Navigation System
PA28150,
So you only have 1 speaker for the Pioneer Navigation? Did that came with the system or did you buy that separately?
So I guess you are only using the pioneer mainly as a navigation system and not as a dvd player? because you wouldn't be able to hear the 5.1 dolby digital sounds.
Is there any way I can connect the pioneer system to the factory Bose speakers? would I be able to get 5.1 dolby digital sound?
Is it possible to also connect my factory radio to the bose speakers and install a switch so I can switch back and fourth between the headunits while using the same speakers?

Yes, I have one speaker for the Nav, which came with the unit.
I don't know the answer to your other questions. I don't know if anyone has attempted such things here. You might want to try the Becker forum for info.
