replacement speakers

I've almost decided to yank out the factory Bose head unit, amp and speakers to get a much nicer system w/ bluetooth, ipod interface, and possibly HD radio/Sirius.

I was checking out the receiver options on Crutchfield and read that the Bose dash speakers were an odd size.
Has anyone replaced the dash speakers, (or the speakers on the front doors by the mirrors) or do most folks just put the main speakers in the doors and call it good enough?

I have not replaced my stock Bose parts, but why don't you have a look at Harmon Karden since that's apparently what MB uses now?

Thumbs up

Excellent choice for quality, but I think the original speaker size from Bose is off, thus they may not have replacement options that are direct bolt in replacments.
I'll definitely check into them as an option.

Hi Dan,

I have my complete system redone by Rick Reus. He has removed the BOSS speaker and replaced them with speakers the design. It is a direct replacement. He is at L.A. Autoshow this week. So check them out if you go to the show. Or call them at

Reus Audio Systems

Ask to sepak to Rick. He is the owner and pretty knowledgeable.
