Need good bodyshop in L.A.

Hello,
I am visiting from the BMW forums, and I am looking for a GOOD bodyshop in the L.A. area, for a 2001 E-Class wagon. (It was rear ended somewhere below 30mph...I was given a $7000 estimate. ....seatbelts need replacing 5th door as well as rear passenger doors, and the frame seems a bit bent.)

I am in Pasadena, so anything close would be good. Rusnak seems to recommend dc autocraft in Burbank....does anyone know of them? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,
Eric

Check with MBZ motors in the valley. (818) 709-5400. Their body shop did an excellent job on my 99 CLK 320 when I got into a fender bender. Inexpensive and quickly done.

Hi Eric:

Holmes Body Shop on Colorado in Pasadena used to be pretty good when I first used them over 10 years ago, but didn't do a very good job on my son's Lexus last year. Marco's Autobody [(626) 309-9100 or www.marcosautobody.com ] on Las Tunas in San Gabriel did a very good job on my niece's MDX earlier this year. They have shops in Pasadena, South Pasadena and Monterey Park as well. They seem to work mostly on high-end cars. You might want to visit these shops and see what kind of work they do. They should be happy to show you around.

Since I think your car is fully insured, I don't think the actual repair cost really matters. You just pay a fixed deductible no matter which shop you go to. Your insurance company should let you choose your own repair shop. So look around and use the best one.

Good luck on the repairs.
