Any interest in my Zam Depo Retrofits?
This cut & paste of a PM to me, from Zam, when I emailed him about these:
"I built that set for my personal use, so everything that went into it was top of the line part: RS6 bi-xenon projector (modified to make even brighter), OEM ballast & bulb. On top of it, I also have the 3M protective film for headlight protection (prevent dull & scratch), that itself cost me $140 (part & labor). It brought lot of smile to myself when driving at night.
I then sold it to him ($1200 or something), to build myself another set (using the LS430 projector, the best out there).
Nothing have change much bin my retro since, I still use the same process & part source. For me to do another retro like that, w/o the 3M film, price would be around $1175. I don't know how the light is now, since it's two years already. However, judging by him keeping his car in good condition (nice mod), I think the light must be in good shape, not to mention the 3M film very much help to prevent it from any scratch or dull, but to be honest, you will have to ask for picture of the light or see it in person to determine the condition."
They work great and the bulbs are recent, I have a backup set as well. Here is the catch, I did however mess up some of the chrome paint on the inside of the passenger one. It had some condensation which I tried drying out with a hairdryer before resealing and heated the inside up too much. Functionally they work great though. They are used and in used condition the gaskets are looking a little weather beaten. The parts; ballasts, projectors, bulbs, etc are worth a lot along and they do work excellent and have been on my car for the past 6 months.
I'm thinking $625 shipped is a very fair price, I would knock $100 off if you had a nice stock set to trade. I paid $750-$800+ my stock headlights for these 6 months ago.
It's almost dark here now but I'll snap some recent pics tomorrow.
Installed:
-Yes 2 sets of bulbs both Philips 4300K D2S 85122's, and ballasts etc. Plug and Play installation. They are adjustable for aiming too, just like the stock ones.
