help with light malfunction message

i don't really like the color of the bulb for my side marker, and i got a pair of led's that should replace the bulbs i have, but i get the light malfunction message even though the lights work fine, and i don't think i'm hurting anything, but i think since the led's use less power the computer gives the light malfunction error. is there any tricks to solve this problem? by the way i have clear side markers.
also i was thinking of using led's for the parking lights also (h6w), in order to make them white just like the headlights. has anyone done it? any hints?
thanx in advance
