Shifter Problem on my 1996 E320
I just inherited 1996 E320, beautiful car. A couple days ago my drive shift damper came apart and I believe the debris may have bent my shifting rod. I had it repaired by a local mechanic and the car is drivable but the shifter is off. It will not push up in park, so my reverse is park, my neutral is reverse, my drive is neutral, and my low 3 is drive. Also, my break lights doesn't come on and neither do my day lights. I have already replaced the break light switch and still have the same issue. I do have back lights but, no break lights. The mechanic can't figure it out. HELP!
