w210 alignment

Hey there. I am going sometime this month when i find the time to install new tires, and get an alignment. I have a E430 with E55 AMG monoblock take off's specs for the wheels are:
WHEEL SIZE FRONT: 18X8 JH2 ET 31.
WHEEL SIZE REAR: 18X9 JH2 ET 35.

Originally the car came with 16 inch wheels. I installed the 18 inch E55 wheels and got an alignment and who knows if it was done right. My question is when i go to get my tires installed and get a new alignment how should the car be aligned since the car is now on 18's? Should it be aligned to Factory E430 specs or some other specs. THanks in advance.

i dont think the car will be in need of an alignment as a result of a wheel/tire
swap. the car should pretty much ride the same. I believe the crucial spec
which determines need for alignment is if the car has been lowered or raised
in the process....or if the ET has significantly changed.

You might want to get the alignment done just to safe. Might be better to spend the money up front rather than on new tires AND an alignment if you start seeing uneven wear. Also, when was the last time you had it aligned?

Here's an article I found on Mercedes alignment that I found when trying to get mine done. Find this and more by searching Everything Benz:

http://www.continentalimports.com/ser_ic4232.html

The article mentions special alignment correction bolts that I have also heard discussed here. Probably a good idea to read up on them.

I tried four three times to get mine done before finally getting it done the fourth. First place said I needed ball joints first. Did those. Next place couldn't get it into the proper specs. I suspected that I needed correction bolts since I had read about them. Then, took it to a dealer. They said I should get new tires first. Then I took it to a place to replace the tires and had them do it. I told them about the correction bolt and said I'd get one from the dealer, but they assured me they could do it. So I got the tire and the alignment.

The printout they gave me said that some things were out of tolerance but they acted like it was all OK overall. I'm skeptical but still driving it on that job. Oh well, it's better than it was.
