Depo projectors
Will some one tell me the difference between regular xenon’s and Bi-Xenon headlights? I found Depo projector beams on E-Bay for $176-189, are these the real thing, the ones necessary for the retro fit. I have a 99 E430 w/ factory xenon’s.

your MB regular issue xenons are reflector based...and the focusing is done
using etched glass/lens in somewhat the same design as halogen sealed beams.
bixenons are projector based and the focusing is done using a lens (i forget
the technical jargon) which is like a magnifying lens. inside the projector is
a metal blade which covers 1/2 the beam when on LOW beam. when the
HIGH beam in invoked, the blade swings out of the way, revealing the full
beam, in all its glory.
here is simplistic depiction of the dual pair, MB bixenon in action....
