Thanks for the touch-up. It does look lower and more modern. I may have to think about that (I actually did something similar to my NA Miata before doing the full kit conversion).

Explicit... nice car. Did you do that yourself? If not, where did you get the paint, and what code?

A picture of mine is attached. 753M is my paint code.

Then you have to go to a paint dealer and find a matching color. the silver paint is a pain in the *** as it's almost impossible to matvh 100% on a used car. The dealer should have som sample cards. Choose the one closest to your color. You need plastic primer, color (water based) and clear coat.

To prepare the surface:
Begin with washing with water and a sponge. Then you need something to rub it with, P400 or higher is recommended (something which doesn't leave visible scrathes) Then clean it with water again. Let it dry.
Begin masking and covering the surfaces and objects you don't want painted (including the roof! and other objects in at least 10meters distance) And right before you begin spraying wash over the surface at least twice with something which removes silicone and fat (this is very important, else your paint may/will fall off)

Then you follow the instructions from your paint dealer on how much to spray and how long to wait between sprays.

If you do it this way you will get a good result, but you will need at least one day to work and one day to dry the paint.

Cool... let me know which store you bought them (I would assume Pep Boys because they carry a lot of paint), what paint code, etc. I'd love to see your car one of these days, btw. Are there forum meets in the Bay Area?

Thanks. I ended up ordering from this site:

http://www.automotivetouchup.com/cho...44%2C+No%2C+No

My paint code supposedly is 744M (or Brilliant Silver Metallic). I ordered 2 12 oz cans. We'll see what happens. I do need the paint for other reasons, but with two cans... I may be tempted to hit the rocker panels.
