OIL Change
Hello All,
Here is a question I have:
If I only drive 3-5K miles a year on my W210... given that info... I will not have to replace the oil and filter but every 2 years or so based on the fact that synthetic and fleece oil filter is suppose to last that long.
I am using Mobil synthetic and fleece oil filter.
So...I am wondering if having the oil and filter in the engine for 2 years or so is a bad thing? Replace the oil and filter yearly regardless of mileage or wait until I hit 7-10K miles in approx. 2 years?
Thanks,
Tony

If you have a newer W210 the FSS will time out at one year before you reach the 10K mileage.
If not, then, yes, you change the oil and filter as well as other Schedule A items at 1 year intervals. Schedule B at 2 years.

I have been ignoring the FSS and just reset it when it comes on.
Basically, the car used to see the average 7-10k miles a year..so I did changed the oil and filter on yearly basis myself.
Now that my job is closer to home..it does not see the higher mileage..but it is still driven everyday.
So in my case....just change yearly? or at 7-10K?
I have not based my oil changes on the FSS...
Thanks for all feed back.
