Telephone system assistance
I previously posted this on the audio forum and noone answered. Does any one know if the roof mounted antenna is just analog, digital, single or dual band on a 2001 E320? In my car where would the splitter be located? My latest project is to add a cell phone signal extender to my car. Since I don't use the Teleaid or the phone which is not installed in my car, I would like to use the existing antenna.

The antenna connector is connected to an RF amplifier module located on left side trunk under liner. It’s mounted on a bracket with the phone unit. Just remove this connector from amplifier. You will notice another connector to this amplifier. Remove this as well and connect these two connectors thru an adaptor connector. This second connector wire goes inside your car, the arm rest area where your Mercedes Benz phone located.
In short you bypassed the amplifier located in the trunk. This way you can directly use the external phone antenna.
