KMAC in DC/MD/VA

Has anyone installed the KMAC camber kit (rear) on their W210 in the MD/DC/VA area? If so, did you do it yourself or take it to a local shop? I've been to a couple of local indies and they either dont do the work or cant do the work. I was wondering about DIY (by buying or renting a press) but was wondering if the KMAC kit has to be aligned before pressing or can they be adjusted after being pressed?

There's a shop at Silver Spring called Allen Automotive and they do a good job on alignment and mechanical work. I got my alignment and Underdrive pulley (alternator, water pump, and power steering--this was the hardest one to replace ) done there. Very reasonable price. 301-589-8323 Ask for Henry.

I am planning to get a rear camber kit for them to install too.... Why not get the Speedybenz kit?

Hey Thanks Allot for responding blueC230K!

Even with the group buy the Speedybenz kit was almost 100 bucks more than the deal I got on the Kmac. I have read other members had great success with Speedybenz but then again I've read the same about the Kmac. They both have their +/-.

Called them and got an estimate for the front camber bolts. Stated 1.5 hours each side for a total of 230 to 250 (doubt that includes an alignment). They’ve no experience with the Kmac kit for the rears and would have to look at them to give an estimate.

The good news is that I can probably put the front bolts in myself in allot less time. I’ll probably rig up my own bushing puller for the rear and give her a go. Once done I will take it to a benz dealer for final adjusting.

Now I just gotta find someone local that can roll fenders?!?!

No problem man. Just trying to help out here. Hm... that's kind of expensive to install the front camber bolts? Regardless, their alignment price is pretty good ~$70 per axle. I only need to align the front last time when I was there. They advised me to get a camber kit for the rear because the right rear was way off (too negative). So, I think they would have no problem to install the camber kit for you. I guess they might not have heard of KMAC yet...

If you need some other maintenance work done, let me know. I also know a tech at EuroMotorcar at Bethesda.

Thanks Again!

I just got a good deal off eBay for a Klann ball joint puller ($50).

I'm going to try and tackle the installation myself with a home-made bushing puller. Looking at the one that came with my KMAC kit, it shouldnt be too hard to improve on the design with a visit to the hardware store.

I figure if I can do ball joints then I should be able to swap out bushings.

Also ~ I was looking at your mods and we nearly have twins...
