Driver door electrochromic mirror is toast, need advice
Car is a 2001 E320. Driver side mirror glass is discolored but motor still works fine. Is there a "fit over" stick-on glass that will work on this car, or an inexpensive glass replacement someone can recommend that is guaranteed to fit properly? The dealer wants >$600 for the whole assembly. I have been checking ebay, but so far the best I have found is $350 for an entire assembly. I believe the part number is 2108101321. Thanks in advance.

I priced out the whole assembly a few minutes ago, and Chill is right, they are expensive. That Ebay one is a good deal as long as it works.
However, I think the glass can be ordered by itself. Shoot me your VIN.
Raymond, what is 100-150?

Ok, a bit more info. There are 3 types of glass - curved, non-dimming, and flat or curved auto-dim. The auto-dim is what bumps up the price to 4-500 no matter what kind. However, the non-dim glass is only $75.

RB-
the mirror panel itself: driver side, autodim, heated, wide angle... was one i
picked up at dealer cost for about $100 from Sunil. I assumed that with a
little padding, it shouldn't go over $150; my WAG. I bought the wide angle
to replace my non-wide, yet still autodim and heated mirror panel.

ack !! i just referred to an old MB price list referencing the aforementioned p/n
and it shows:
2108101321 MIRROR GLASS 42200 33800 25400 (list, w/s, dealer)
yikes....perhaps my $100 mirror was just a super deal from Sunil ¿

Can I get a $75 non dimming glass to fit this car that came with an electrochromic originally? I thought that was available for the passenger side only. If so, I'd do that. The top of the mirror is curved, not flat. The VIN is WDBJF65J81B374478.

Raymond, I don't know what you got, but you should have bought 50 of them.
Auto-dim assembly without the housing is way more than that. Best I can do is non-dim flat glass-only (no motor) at $75.
Who the heck is Sunil?

Your list must be pretty old.

list - old? yeah, i didn't realize how quickly time flies. it is from 2005. time to toss, eh?
the current price for the mirror is outrageous, regardless (!) I still have a spare
autodim/heated driver's mirror but i'll be damned now, if i'm going to sell that.
I got that from a FS on this forum: both outside mirrors, full clusters, and intact
for $80 shipped.
sunil - the guy with the SDS multiplexor and who has helped out members....
mostly Seattle, Detroit, Houston by resetting and coding their MBs.

3 years old, eh? Go to my sig for a download of the current list.
I get a kick out of people looking for OEM parts and doing price comparisons between ebay "OEM" and real OEM. They wouldn't lie on Ebay, certainly. Ask the Ebay seller how long the warranty is. When they don't answer, you have your answer.
