NGK Single Platinum (7090) vs Double Platinum (PFR5G-11)

Need to pick up some plugs for my Mercedes. The manual seems to call for the NGK double platinum which are about $12. Single platinum are about $2.85. Recognizing that many members have used the 7090 single platinum, has anyone had any problems with them and/or have they worn out quicker then you would have expected? They certainly are a good value.
