Painting the lower body trim
Anyone on this forum had an experience with painting the black lower body trim on a 1998 E430 to match the body color? I have a silver E430 and I'm thinking of doing this but wanted to get some opinions about how it will look and hold up over time (assuming I get a first class matching paint job). Thanks

It's too bad you're not out east, I know a guy that does AMAZING paint/body work. If you get the paint code, he'll do it the right way: sand, prime, paint, clearcoat, etc.

E430
Why not purchase the AMG lower panels to cover the
lower rockers? The Brabus ones don't come with the appropriate holes for the jack.
I believe this is also available aftermarket so you don't have to purchase from the dealer...
One of the reasons why we chose obsidian black was so that the lower panels would not contrast so much with body of the car.
...then we bought a silver A4. Go figure..
enjoy,
