Suspension ordered

Hey guys i ordered the H&R springs and bilstein sport shocks. I have a 1999 E430 however it was produced in 11/2/1998. I ordered from tire rack and there part numbers for the bilstein sport shocks are very weird.

I was told to get these part numbers ( which are listed only under the e320 )
Front B36-2156
Rear B36-2157

However tire rack shows to get the BE3-A057 for the front
and BE3-A058 for the rear for the sport shocks.

Why is that the part number for 2000-2002 HD shocks is the same as the part number for the front sport shock on the 1996-1999.
-- 1996-99 W210 --
Bilstein Sport
Front B36-2156

-- 2000-02 W210 --
Bilstein HD
Front B36-2156

Im very confused and hope i ordered the right sport shocks.

Please help me

I believe they are correct part number for 96-99 E320.

SP/Front F4-B36-2156-H0
SP/ Rear F4-B36-2157-H0

this one was a bit of a headscratcher....then I recall that recently, on the other
board, someone asked similar and look at how it unfolded. see what do you think.....

i've not confirmed this but may have a chance this weekend. will need to dig
around in my box of shocks to see if I can compare them as described. I may
come back and ask you for OAL measurements of the shocks you have

This is really confusing. I hope i ordered the right ones. What could possibly be the difference if i ordered the 57, and 58. I just hope i am getting the sport shocks and not the HD

I just got an update. i called bilstein and they told me the part numbers for my e430 sport shocks were correct. Front B36-2156
Rear B36-2157

I asked them why the same part number 2156 was considered a heavy duty shock for the 2000+ cars. And i was told that something with suspension changed. Something with the height possibly. I believe i was told the 2156 is 1 inch taller than than the heavy duty shocks on the 2000+ plus cars. And that the 2156 is considered a sport shocks for the older models.

This whole thing is very confusing. Can anyone confirm any changes in the suspension between the pre and face lift models.

1996 E300 Black/Grey and Rust :(
me too!

Kept the original springs but my Bilstein HD's are sitting behind me. Mine are for a 1996 E300, I paid ~85/wheel incl mounting kit. Not bad!
