Springs on E430 4matic cracked
I was just wondering if there was a recall or defect on the front coil springs,
My car is a 02 and just had tires put on and was told the springs are cracked.
Any comments would be helpful.

there are no recalls on your model due to springs. neither are there any TSBs
which I could find (Alldata.com) in which there have been reports of accelerated
spring fatigue.

I had this happen on our '02 wagon last year. A new pair of front springs was around $80.
The lower most coil on the driver's side broke. The dealer needed $1100 to repair.
Our car is a non-4MATIC and I don't know how much that affects the complexity of the repair.
