Suspension questions reguaring anti sway bars and shocks
I have to change the endlinks on my front sway bar, I will most likely also change the bushings. I haven't looked at the rear bar yet, but I would guess they look as worn as the front.
My vehicle is a 1999 E300DT, before buying the bushings, would anyone know if a E430 had slightly larger bars? I can get a set from an E430 for dirt.
My second question is about shocks. I see that the fronts were changed at some point in time with KYB Gas-A-Just monotubes. The rears are black in color with a H4 printed on them in red. Are these stock?
Now I do like a sport suspension, however do not want to know if I drive over a dime. What shocks give a firm ride without sacrificing ride quality?
(Please respond to the shock question from experience). I looked into replacement shocks, and have found that they are for the most part all monotube hi pressure. Surprisingly price between brands are close.

OK, I was not totally clear
I ment, are the sway bars any bigger on a E430 compared to a E300 or E320. The end links are the same I also figured . The KYB shocks in the front of my vehicle are aftermarket replacements, What do stock shocks look like? I think that the rears are stock, they are all black with a large red H4 on them.

I just replaced all four shocks with Bilstein HD's and they ride nice. Firmer than when I bought the car, but still very comfortable. Members here have used different types of shocks for stock applications, but I'd have to say that the HD's are the most agreed upon.

Now I just want to find out about the sway bar diameters. If an E430 has larger bars, I'd pick up a pair. Anyone know what stock E430 sway bars measure? I'm not going to spring for aftermarket bars for this car, but a slight upgrade would be worth a couple bucks more since I have to replace ends and bushings anyway.
