2001 E320 seat heater

Hello, My driver's side seat heater is not heating up. I press the button and the red lights come on but the seat is not heating up. Any ideas what this maybe? My passenger side seat warmer is working fine. Thanks please help!

On our 99 wagon it was the element. Requires a new one that is attached to the skin of the seat. A couple hundred dollars if I recall correctly, although ours was fortunately covered by the Starmark warranty.

Check connections at the bottom of the seat

The heat pads can be changed using a 202 heat pad ..otherwise you must buy the leather WITH the heat pad
If you need a shop in So Cal pm me as I have friends that own several shops

If the connection is disconnected, the lights will not come on. The problem you describe is usually due to a old worn heat pad.

I might suggest to check the fuse first.

hi mark, never saw this solution elsewhere....if i were to buy an old w202 heatpad (on my car, just the seatback doesn't work; the seatbottom element works fine), would i be able to remove the element even though it's stitched into the seat and replace it with a 202, without having to replace the skin? how would i go about doing this?
