Mintex Brake Pads?

Anyone know where I can order Mintex Red Box brake pads for my mom's 2001 E430? I'm not really getting anywhere with searches, et al...thanks.

I would advise against Mintex. I put them on my car several months ago and now my brakes squeek; not all the time, but when it comes, it is annoying...

Hmmm...I've also heard varying reports about squeaking with Red Boxes -- some don't have any problems, others also squeak like crazy. What would you recommend, then? I've also heard that EBC Green's are hell on rotors, and that Porterfield R-4S's also can get quite squeaky...

My next set will probably be stock OEM MB part, even though that may be more dusty. I feel embarassed with passengers in my car and the brake squeeks.

Well, Bimmerparts.com is listing three brands of pads: ATE/Teves, Pagid and Textar. Anyone have a preference of the three?

Re: Mintex

Been using Mintex red box on my E430 for the last 15K (front) only. No rear application.

Much much less dust, no squeal and same stock pedal feel.

Bought them online from some company in Ca. Sorry can't remember!

Had them on an Audi A4 too and had the same good experience.

cheers,
travis

Source for Mintex

Folks,

For those interested, I finally found my receipt and I got my Mintex front pads from Lee at Mercedesshop.com

I didn't see it listed in their catalog today, but did see PBR (axxis) pads which are very similiar. much less dust, good pedal feel.

Been using PBR on my Porsche and previous BMW.

enjoy,

travis
