Lamp Defective Error - Twisted One
Off late everytime I turn on the lights in the night I get the lamp defective error in the cluster. I checked all around and all bulbs including the brake light are working fine.......check the interior of the car and realize the light on the toggle knob in the air vent is out both in the front senter and driver side vent.
Will the failure of these mini bulbs prmpt throwing up the error code ? Does anyone have instructions on how to change these bulbs ? If these two bulbs are not the culprit I would apprecaite any words of wisdon to fix this issue.

You have to do some diagnostics, turn on parking lamps, if the indicator comes on you have a clue, next turn on headlamps, it would be a common bulb. if it were brake lamps it would happen as the brakes are applied. There have been issues with corrosion and non standard bulbs!

I started to get intermittent 'lamp defective' and my brake lights were fine; then the error started continously everytime I started the car. Finally my right brake light went bad. It was the the combination of the bulb and the metal contacts. I had to use a key to bend the contacts to make it work. One way of troubleshooting is taking the bulb and housing from the other side and do a swap and then press the brake pedal while someone is looking at your brake lights.

i didnt have anyone available... except the dog. so i grabbed some scrap
aluminum foil and closed the trunk on it. stepped on the brake and looked
at each outside mirror for reflection off the foil
