A little Chronicle of my E Class

There have been a lot of posts lately regarding "reliability" and "quality" of MB's as of late. I am pretty sure we all know of the flop period 99?-03 of some QC problems. However, I can say this about my 98 E 320 Class:

1. She has 184, 481 miles on her as of today.
2. She is ten years old, knocking on 11.
3. She is still running strong today as is my daily driver to work.
4. Routine maintenance has been performed on this car.

I have done the following outside of routine work:
1. Transmission drain and service $189?
2. Left CAT replacement $700
3. Alignment bolt kit $101
4. All bushings, etc replaced on suspension - Can't remember price
5. Headlight covers replaced - ?
6. Soon to be done - left mirror replaced (some idiot ran a shopping cart into it)
7. Subwoofer replaced, it blew out a little while ago.
8. 2 batteries.

This car looks damn near new, I get heads turned on her, and I wash and wax her myself as I always have with all my cars. So, the next time someone has a question of quality I have to say MB's have worked for me. I have never had a car that I spent such a low amount of maintaining when opposed to time frame and miles in still such good condition. I have applied for my mileage award badge as well.

Well-maintaining any car makes a difference, and a nicely looking older car in good shape always creates respect. I've had my share of a lot of (some costly) repairs this year. But as long as I don't develop a love-hate relationship with this car we'll be driving it for years to come!
