w210 horn issues
While driving today I had to blow my horn for about 5 seconds straight to avoid a collision, after doing that I noticed that my horn stopped working. I changed both horns on the vehicle because it had been sounding light for a little while so I figured one had gone out, so after replacing both I still have no horn. I have checked all fuse compartments engine, rear seat and drivers pillar and cant find the horn fuse. im not sure if i need a horn button or not?????? desperate in atlanta ... please help it was hell trying to change the one under the passenger light without taking off the bumper..

The Fuse number is 40 (10 amp) under the hood by the driver side in last row towards the windshield. When that fuse blow, it takes out the horn, accessory fan (in front of the radiator) and the windshield washer fluid pump. (maybe more)
I'm trying to figure out why mine keeps blowing.

Fuse No 40 keeps blowing after i use the horn 3-4 times. One of the horns has been replaced, the low tone is under the facelifted bumper and I have not gotten around to it. Any reasons why the fuse keeps blowing? How do i go about finding the short?
Thanks

Assuming you can hear the horn before the fuse blows, maybe only one of the horns are shorted. Today on my car, I discovered that the horn above the bumper in front of the accessory fan does not work. (when I disconnected it, the horn sounds the same) I can see how that horn would fail first, as the opening faces the front of the car, sort of scooping in all the moisture during inclement weather days.
I'm going to try using the car with the failed "top" horn disconnected and see if the #40 fuse continues to blow.

Because when you blow the horn you automatically step (read jam) on the brakes with both feet and yell at the kids in the back seat at the same time while looking at the wife and saying "What? What I do???". I love these little icons!!!
