1997 E420 issues

Hello all, I'm new to this forum. I have a 97 E420 and it's been acting up.
Symptoms: Low idling, shuts off @ traffic light, ASR. ACC Skid control (error), CEL, shuts off while warming up.

I took the car to autozone 2day to have diagnostics done and got codes
P0115 & P0100. Cleared codes, drove around for 10 mins, came back same codes present.

P0115: ECT (Engine Coolant Temp)

Resolution1: Check wiring & connector

Resolution2: Sensor open or shorted-replace sensor

P0100: MAP/BARO or MAF sensor condition

Resolution1: Vac hose off, cracked or passage blocked-Engine mechanical timing condition.

Resolution2:Throttle body intake tube loose, off, or cracked.

Resolution3: BARO/MAP defective

Resolution4: VAF (Vane Air Flow) MAF sensor dirty or defective.

Should I start with the ECT, since that's the code that came up first?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Hello all. I contacted the dealer to purchase an Engine Coolant Temp sensor but to no avail. They said that they have a temp sender switch. Is that the same thing?

Does anyone have a diagram where these sensors are located...I searched but only found

location for CPS. I do not really want to take to the stealer for a simple fix. TIA.

Well I finally fixed my E420.

1. Replaced ECT sensor $25 PN #011-542-51-17-M85

2. Replaced thermostat $30 PN #119-200-00-15-M2

3. Replaced Air Mass Sensor $375 PN #000-094-07-48-M14

Oh I also changed the coolant as a preventative maintenance.

Took a while, since I had to research endlessly & patiently about my MB's blueprint

I hope this info helps someone who might have these same issues in the present or

future.

My Benzo runs better than it ever did.

I feel so..... &

Additional Info I forgot to mention.

These are miscellaneous items:

Aluminum washer/ring (thermostat) $0.05 (yep a nickel) PN #007603-014104

Loom ties (2) @$3.50/piece = $7.00 PN #006-997-06-90

They were minor so I forgot to mention them.

Cheers.
