Need to replace failed EC HVAC switch
I posted this on the W140 forum because my question is in regards to my S500. No response there, so I figured I'd ask on this forum since my climate controls look virtually the same on both models (W210, W410).
Here's my problem: The EC (economy) HVAC switch on my 1999 W140 has failed. Can I replace only the switch, or must I obtain the whole switch panel? In either case, does anyone have the part(s) and instructions and/or video that explain the installation? Thanks.

Ed - You should pull the error codes and actual values to help diagnose.

To erase error codes hold both auto buttons 3-5 secs while on the error screen. FF means no more codes. Do erase them as sometimes a fault code is keeping the system from comming on. Do note them first.
