Cylinder Misfire

Hey Guys (pretty much Oh Lord!),
I read all the threads on this forum for code P0304 and I did what most people did. I cleared it and the engine seems to run smoothly.

But my question is, has anyone else heard their engine misfire when this code came on? I did. And i'm wondering if i should even drive it around even though i've cleared the code and it's running fine.

So this is what happened... Came home from a 140 mile trip. Everything's fine, no CEL. The next day, I start my car and BAM! I hear a loud noise immediately from the engine, the motor continues to run but it's shaking like crazy. I immediately turn it off. I wait a few seconds and start it up again, no noise but it's still running pretty clunky. This is when I noticed the CEL.
Anyway, I plugged in my OBDII and got the P0304 code. I restart again and now it runs pretty smoothly, so I removed the code. I am going to drive it around to see if the CEL stays off... but I was wondering if anyone else has heard their engine go "BAM" (i guess it was a real misfire) and start up with crazy vibrations...

Thanks,
david

Yea used to happen to me alot because my plugs where gaped wrong. Since I guess there wasnt a MAF code just do a tune up by replacing the spark plugs, reset the ECU, and maybe replacing the leads off the coil.

I had the cylinder misfire code also with the fuel trim code errors, it was a result of the MAF. I replaced it and that was the problem.
