Window ghost mystery: intermittently works in warm weather?
I've had an ongoing issue with my electric windows ever since I had to do a hard reset on the car when the central locking wouldn't work. I've poured over the boards with no luck, so in order to hopefully find some answers...and gain some sanity...these are the extent of my issues:
Power windows: will only roll up/down with key fob; switches do not work, but they will occasionally WORK in warmer weather, with no re-synch needed, but then do not work once car is restarted. Rear switches, mirror control, etc, are intermittent too.
I've disconnected the assembly to check wires, moisture, etc. to no avail.
Should I try a new/refurb'd console switch?
Oh, sunroof works fine.
Checked fuses, all seem fine too. Used multimeter, but maybe I need a new one. I don't think this is regulator or PSE related - weak battery maybe?!
I'm going insane and I'm already battling with A/C issues - so no windows is a killer! 80 in June in Seattle?! C'mon!
This is a cry out for help, sanity, and suggestions. Many Thank You's to ANY and ALL information.

This sounds ridiculous but worth a try.
There are 6 modules (computers) that control these things: one for each window, one for the sunroof, and another one controls the other 5.
Try to disconnect the battery to see if you can use the switch for the windows (at least temporary) and report the results back.

thanks for the suggestion loubapache
I finally got a change to try the suggested trouble-shoot...but unfortunately didn't pan out. I read that correctly by taking it as try the windows with the battery disconnected, correct?
I think it's time to take it in - unless someone knows of a good place I can try a refurb'd piece? anyone? ohlord?

Sorry, I was not clear. The dis-connection of the battery was as a re-booting the modules. you need tro re-connect the battery and try. Apparently you ave tried that already.
When you see the battery, also check to see if the A37 module (aka PSE pump) is dry. With these CAN BUS communications, a problem in one module can affect the function of others.
