Codes P0700 P0715
Could spilling a small amount of liquid on the shifter cause codes P0700 and P0715? Also, I was wondering if dirty transmission fluid/filter could cause these codes and the car to go into limp mode? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Although both are generic OBD II codes, they are pointing to the speed sensors on the conductor plate on top of the valve body. The P0715 is more for the speed sensor circuit and the P0700 for excessive RPM.
These codes could also mean other things but my bet is the conductor plate, which fails at frequent intervals, especially on the early 722.6 transmissions.
A more accurate diagnosis is to pull the EGS (ETC) codes from the electronic transmisson contol module. You need to see either a dealer or someone who has equipment to read the codes. Generic OBD II cannot read these specific Mercedes codes.
