E430 Foglight Damage

I have a 2000 E430 4Matic. Has anyone else experienced problems with cracks in their foglight lenses? I just had to have both foglamps replaced because cracks in the lenses let moisture inside. Not covered under warranty. Also, I've had to have my outside temperature sensor replaced 3 times because of damage; that one is covered by warranty. Any recs for protecting the lower front facia (sp?) from damage presumably from high-speed highway driving (think kick-up road dust from 18-wheelers)?

Hi BenzE!

Never had that problem before about the crack foglight. But you may want to try a car bra/mask for your 430 that might help a bit.

JamE55-

Yeah, I have of course considered putting a bra on the car, but I've never really liked the appearance of those things. Plus, I worry about paint discoloration; the car is Obsidian Black so of course it shows every damned stone chip. My car has more stone chips than my buddy's 1994 E420 with 200K+ miles...

Thanks for your input.

Another option is, would be to get StoneGuard! Not sure if you've heard of it but it's basically a 3M Clear Film that covers the front fascia of your car. You may want to read about it more here. Click on this link..
