replacing star on trunk

i used dental floss on my 99 to remove the model designation from the trunk. then had the residue removed when the car was detailed. shadow may remain depending on the age/condition of the surrounding paint.

What year is your car 007??? On my 2002 E320, the star on the trunk is a push-in style star. You'll need to extract it carefully using a flat plastic tool being careful not to pop it out too much from either side and not damage the paint. Remember, a little bit at a time and use patience. Pressure is the only thing that holds it in place. To replace it, simply push it in place. IMPORTANT...make sure that you put it in correctly with the point facing up. There is a right side up on this thing because of the way the trunk is molded. The top portion of the MB star looks to be bent inward to flow with the trunk. Not sure how else to describe this part. Just remember the bent portion of the MB star goes up.
