Check your breathers are ok, change your oil, if you are loosing coolant then change your oil cooler. Check that you engine reaches at least 80C when hot and stays above 80C when running on a motorway. As stated previously, this can be considered normal under some circumstances.

1999 E320
I purchased a 99 E320 Sedan in March of this yr. for 6500. It was a one owner driven less than 100k per year and in above average condition. The idividual had it serviced at the MB dealer every 10k using Mobil 1 10w 30. I am approaching the 10k service and have had to fill 2 quarts in that period.
My mechanic (who I seem to see to often for fuel pumps) says I should castrol synthetic instead because the oil doesn't 'disappear' like the Mobil 1. He also believes that I should change the oil every 3k. I am hesitant to switch from the OEM specs and more importantly the brand and viscocity that the car has been on since new.
Thoughts???

Mobil 1 10w30 is not the right-spec oil for your engine.
Use Mobil 1 0w40 or Castrol Syntec 0w30 "european formula" (aka German Castrol).
Change every 7500-10k miles, depending on how you drive.
