Side markers

These are the side markers you can find commonly on eBay. As you can see, the glass itself is clear, with a reflector, so you can easily see the bulb inside.

There are also smoked versions.

You might also be able to find versions with crenelated lenses, which would break up the light pattern more and make the bulb less visible. Or, you could shoot a light coat of gray spray paint on these.

Wow those look great. My car is the same color as yours and now I'm thinking about getting them. Do you have a link? Smoked or clear?

Search for "W210 side marker" on eBay.

Is there a difference between 96-99 and 00-02?

Those look correct. I think there is a difference between the pre- and post-facelift models. Not sure, though.

i considered those lenses but decided i didn't like the spiderman look. settled
for the uniform prism pattern instead...

because that leaves you with potential for lighting violation (nearly all states
in the US prohibit white light markers), i picked up the silver colored 'stealth'
bulbs, which glow amber when lit. this prevents amber coated bleed through
when not lit. (did same with front turn signals, also avoiding the egg yolk
look above the low beam)

How did you do the stealth thing for your turn signals?

like anything else nowdays, ie google bulb model# and the word 'stealth' or
"silver'. dont remember if i bought it off the web direct from vendor
or Ebay. regular incandescent design so no worries about 'light malfunc-
tion'
