Check engine on, code P0335
I am a little puzzled. Started the car twice, engine cranked but then stopped. Waited for fiffteen minutes and started again. This time, it started, but with the check engine light on and no malfunction was indicated. Reset with the ODB II, no more check engine light, but subsequent rescans reveal code P0335 (crank position sensor, bank A). The car has no sign of trouble, and no malfunction is displayed. Can anyone explain?

was the car hot or warm when you started it those 2 times? Its a common problem and if it is throwing a fault code for it, I would definitely suspect the sensor to be the issue. If you have the tools and know-how, you can check the internal resistance of the sensor and it is supposed to be between 600-1300 ohms. I have seen them completely open and the car still running, but with the check engine light on.

Racin fool nailed it on the head. Your symptoms are classic IF the engine was warm when it refused to start. Typically once it cools down the car will restart like normal.
You're lucky yours set a code, quite often they do not. It's a common problem and an easy DIY if you have some basic automotive repair knowledge and the right tools.
