"MOT" clicking sound

2005 E320 4matic wagon
Exclamation "MOT" clicking sound
I have a clicking sound coming from a device labeled "MOT". It's near the ABS block on the right side of the engine. The sound is intermittent, fading in & out. Anyone else have this? What is the device and what does it do? Clicking sound anything to be concerned with?

98 Brilliant Silver E320 Wagon
It is a purge valve and is part of the emissions system. Sound is intermittent and normal for our cars.
