2001 e320 maint.

Hey guys,

I have an 2001 e320 with 111,000 on the clock. Anything I should be on the lookout for maint wise? I dont have the maint. handbook so i'm not sure what i need to do. I have read on here about the tranny fluid change but I thought it was a sealed unit. I'm sure im due for spark plugs too. Any help would be great!

You can go to a dealer or call 1-800-FOR MERCedes to get a Service Booklet. It's either free or just a couple of dollars. It spells out what Service Schedules you should follow. I prefer to follow the recommendations in it although I realize they are conservative.

Some things that come up around 100K are spark plugs, O2 sensors and transmission service. These cars originally came with a 'Sealed for Life' transmission. There's a lot of debate on whether to go with that or service more often regardless. Two other important services are complete brake fluid flush (every 2 years) and coolant flush (every 3 years). If you have no record of those being done then I would do them ASAP with the brake fluid being most important.

Good luck.
