For those who decide on the 93 chip, it is imperative to use octane boost or a mixture of racing fuel (fortunately racing fuel is sold very nearby me). I've used Nos Racing Formula (black box) with fair results in my previous Upsolute & RBTech ECU upgrade.
FYI the difference between the 93 Powerchip vs Upsolute & RBTech is extremely noticeable, at part throttle the car feels snappy & crisp with good overall response. The acceleration is not brutal (however, I wish it was
) but rather smooth & acute.According to Joel (Powerchip rep), the rev limit is increase 200rpm & speed limiter is remove and this upgrade is competely reversable.
Disclaimer - I have no affilation with Powerchip...Just a happy customer.
Steve: I notice you reside in San Diego...I recently placed an order with AutoWerks located in your area for the BMC Carbon Dynamic Airbox (CDA), Randall had it installed in his E Class with good results.

Autowerks Express is charging $250 which includes a special mounting bracket for our W210...since BMC CDA kit only sends the filter & ram air hose. I expect the unit to arrive later on this week, due to the delay in shipment by BMC.

Another company is Upsolute, www.upsolute.com which many ppl have and love
Speedtuning makes chips and will make a custom program to your specs if you like, www.speedtuningusa.com I believe, and oliver is supposedly a great guy to deal with as well.
Dont bother with fancy looking intakes etc, until your engine really NEEDS the extra air/exhaust capacity...
