Michelin Primacy is the newest version of the MXV4 and a very good tire. The Michelin Harmony is also an excellent tire with a high degree of comfort and very quiet with excellent mileage. It is slightly less pricey than the Primacy by a few dollars. My wife is on her second set. With Michelin it is hard to go wrong with the one exception of which is that they are a pricey offering.

You are right to avoid the MXV4 Energy. They don't have good resistance to hydroplaning especially as the begin to age a bit. In snow...they are really bad. I've had them as OEM on two different cars and both were very poor in bad weather.
I've heard a lot of good things with the newer MXV4 Primacy.

BTW the engine failed on the Avalon so I bought a 2001 E320 4matic wagon with 62000 miles. Now, I'm driving a REAL car.

I went with the MXV4 Primacy as well. I found a local dealer (coincidentally an authorized Tire Rack installer) who agreed to match the Tire Rack price. I also bought a road hazard warranty at $35 each, which includes lifetime rotations AND $9.95 OIL Changes! This guy breaks into tears every time I come in for my 8 qt oil change! (I give him a little break by providing my own OEM filters).

I buy all my tires from www.onlinetires.com They have the cheapest prices out there for sure!! Ive bought over 60 sets of drift & DD tires from them. Takes about 2 weeks for shipping though but the price is worth the wait. U might be able to make discount tire or ntb price match them. Ive done it before.
