Details for Removing Transmission Fill Tube Cap

Does anyone have a detail of just how to remove the transmission filler tube protective cap. I just ordered the dip stick and 2 plastic parts. I read a post that says to break off the red tang and push it thru the cap. If someone has a diagram or more info, it would help me a lot. I do not like the idea if something falling down into the tube.
Thanks

You don't have to worry. The security lock is on the outside of the fill tube. Use a flat blade screwdriver to pry off the part on top of the cap then pull the cap off. The other part will either still be in the cap or it may fall out.
