Built in microphone
I saw another post a year ago asking the same thing with no response. Does anyone know where the built in microphone terminates? I'd like to be able to use it instead of the one that came with my Bluetooth adapter for the head unit. Thanks!

However, it looks like more expense and work than it is worth for me. Easy enough to reach 2 feet and hit a button.

Go to the Audio and Electronics forum, which is in the Forums section, one level up from the Sedans section where we are. There's a sticky there that was started by Skylaw that covers upgrading the integrated phone and converting to bluetooth interface. If you are using a compatible bluetooth phone, you should be able to use all the features of the plug in integrated phone with the exception of charging the phone's battery.

microphone termination
It ends in the cluster that plugs into your dash phone. I removed my dash phone and am hoping to do the same thing with a new Kenwood stereo with Parrot brand bluetooth technology in it and i hope to use the existing mic other wise I at least want to use the wires. I am going to cut the end of plug off and figure out which 2 wires are the mic by using ohm meter and testing for continuity in wires. I will let you all know when I figure it out.

How do I get to the microphone itself? I can't seem to find a guide on here. If I can get to the microphone I should be half way there. I have a cable toner that I can clip on and trace which wire goes where.

I've just done my headliner. When you remove the rear view mirror (clicks into the ceiling with a spring-loaded mechanism) you'll find a 2-wire connector for the microphone! The microphone in my car is AKG brand and is directional (the markings are on the backside) using this connector it'll be much easier measuring out the correct wires to the center console.
The most easiest solution to get bluetooth support with the existing controls AND info on the cluster is searching for the Viseoo MB1000 module on ebay.
