E420 A/C High Side location

i have a 1997 E420.. Im trying to refill my ac with R134a.. (system was opened and completely empty) took it to my friend who has a shop and a machine to refill.. he says he needs to connect the high side and low side to do a complete charge. he says it can be done from the low side but the compressor had to kick in, it wont..

I get code B1419 in the diagnostic.. but in research ive found that the cluch might not be bad, i just need to charge it.. soo where is this high side valve? i see the low side on the right side(facing car) at the rear between the firewall and the motor.. but for the life of me i cant find the other port.

thanks in advance for any help you can offer.. or you can just tell me that that wont work and point me in the right direction soo i can get this a/c working.. it was 93 in newyork yesterday! soo i need to get cracking with this lol

I see what I think is the condenser(black cylinder looking) but it has nothing to attach anything to like what the low side has.. Does that mean that the low side is the only place to hook to the machine??

The condenser is a heat exchanger like the radiator. The high pressure connection is located near the top on the left side I believe.

I would respectively suggest that you take your car to a qualified A/C technician/shop. Have them flush the system to clean it and then pull a vacuum to determine if there are any leaks. They can then charge it with correct amount of refrigerant and oil so that you'll have a nice cool car this summer.

Good luck.
