Question Spring Pad size = ? at wheels

The spring pads come in 4mm increments. What does that work out to be at the wheels? I have a H&R cup kit with #1's in the front and # 4's in the rear on 225-40-18's. I need to drop the back about another 3/8" to level it out. Any suggestions?

Thanks-

01 e320. I have the kit too, but i have not installed it yet. How do you like the ride, Is it really harsh, are you happy with it?

To andswer your question do a search. I actually posted a similar question. There is some feedback, but not too much since not many people have had this set up installed.

The ride is noticeably "firmer" that stock, but it isn't bad. The new shocks make it acceptable. The gain in handling/appearance far out weigh the difference in ride. I will post a few PICS this weekend so that you can see what it will looks like. I have only had this car for about a week, and I put the suspension on the day after I bought it so I only have a few hundred miles on it. I traded in my 98 CLK for a little more room. I had the same type of suspension set-up on that one for almost two years, it seemed to ride a little softer but it didn't look as low as the E320. That probably has to do with the size of the car.

Personally I'm disappointed in the ride. I was hoping it would be really stiff, instead it's pretty soft. The handling is improved, but it's not what I was hoping for.

I have the H&R Cup kit on a E430.

Talking Pics of the Cup Kit & #1 Pads

Well here it is with the cup kit and #1 pads front and rear. The 225-40-18's are a little close up front in a turn but they should work. I am going to roll the front fenders this weekend to get a little more room.

Cool Rear Pic

Here is a rear shot. The car is a little dirty, being from the Seattle area, of course it just rained that morning!

It works a little better if I re-size the pic.

Yeah the gap is pretty even and I am pretty happy with the stance. I am picking up the camber kit this weekend and am going in for the alignment next week. They should be able to get it back to spec. I can't remember what kind of kit it is, I will post it on Saturday. I am surprised the steering wheel is still straight and the car doesn't pull at all. I am still going to get the camber adjusted to save the tire wear.

Two things where did you get the camber kit and where did you get that machine to roll fenders. I have Carlsson 19" 245 front 275 rear and rubing with stock suspention i think i cant use H&r kup kit for my car meaby Eibach springs since they lower the car by only 1.2 in.

The Camber kit I orderd through a local shop. The fender rolling machine I was going to rent from an Audi club on the eastcoast. I changed my mind because the wait was 6 months for an open slot and the cost was goint to be about $100.00 after the freight. THey cost about $500.00 to buy one so I didn't want to do that. I finally found a local body shop that does high performance european cars, they have the tool (and experience) and it will cost about $100.00 to $150.00 depending on if they have to "touch up" the paint. I don't have a problem with the top of the fenders, just the front edge. In a turn if I hit a medium sized bump it catches the tire.

The place that rents the fender roller is:

I don't remember what kind of kit it was but, it cost $350.00. It allows for camber and caster adjustment. I will post the specs this weekend.

For $350, sounds like it's the K-Mac.
