LOST KEY....PLEASE HELP!!!

Lost my key, and from what i gathered there is no way going around paying $250-400. I live in the philadelphia area, I've saw a thread somewhere here from a guy that says he paid $150. I looked on ebay and people are selling cases.....I figured maybe then there is a cheaper way to buy a case and have somebody cut the key inside and program but I'm not sure. Can somebody help me out?

As far as I know you need to bring proof of ownership to a dealer and they'll order the key for you. It is programmed at a Mercedes facility and arrives fully functional.

No other way around this. Existing keys can not be programmed. There used to be a dealer that sold keys over the internet for about $125 but they're gone. Prices vary by dealer though so you could call a few and shop around.

I got a new key from the dealer all programmed and everything for just over $150. Its the new style too, all chrome and sleek looking. Call your local dealer(s) and see what they can do for you.

I lost my key for a 1995 E320 Sedan. Could a key of a 1996 E320 work?

Generally, you can't reprogram keys. You need to get a new key coded for your car.

depends on what system they are
either FBS2 or FBS3, i.e. the one which has a metal insert, used to start the engine, and a fully plastic electronic key w/electronic ignition lock.

DO NOT buy from eBay. Just call the dealer and give them your VIN, they should be able to tell you how much it is. Don't take the easy way out
