trickle charge the car battery. while you're there, check the fluid level, take a specific
gravity reading, and if you know how, check the voltage under load. at the very least,
replenish fluid (distilled water), and then trickle charge overnight with 10 amp charger.
several days with 1 amp charger. you get the picture. report back

i hope you are understanding that unless you help eliminate one of the primary
causes of the symptoms you describe, you're just setting folks up for pure
speculation.

verify that the car battery is fresh and of sufficient capacity to start the car
and support the appliances and we can go from there.

quite a bit of the time, people come here and say 'i checked the battery and
it's fine' but that, at face value, is an opinion and not a diagnostic description
of how such a conclusion has been verified.

so how was battery health verified for both car's primary battery, as well as
the Smartkey battery?

(skip the load test and at least proceed with the others suggested)

If you go to Autozone or similar store they can test your battery for you, normally free of charge.

Turn key to pos 2, press and hold REST on CCU for 5 sec, use L/R AUTO buttons and toggle to screen 24.

If batt voltage is less than ~11.0-11.5V its not going to crank.....If less than 12V re-read what Raymond said.

wowzer - forgot about that one, tnx. i usually pop the hood and just pull out
the fluke meter. but when on the road, this can be very useful.

Also fun to watch screen 6(?) on a hot day with the AC on in slow-n-go traffic and see the dead spot on the dash temp gauge between 95-105C. The gauge holds 95C until it hits 105C, then instantly jumps. Was done to cut down on needless shop visits. CCU reports accurate coolant temp always.
