Flashing Lights

My wife has a 1999 E 320 and we are having a problem. The lights blink ( headlights ,tail lights, and inside lights) when the vehicle is off. It will do this several times during the night and last 4-5 minutes. It looks like the alarm system is going off but there is no sounds. If I dont take it for a spin everyday the battery runs dead. I also am getting a "Defective Lamp" warning.... not sure if it has anything to do with it or not. Any ideas or suggestions why this would happen?

WAG.... alarm is exhibiting false positive. isolate the problem, or, in the mean-
time, shut it down - pop the fuse. if the alarm is recycling automatically, it
may simply be using current wastefully, ergo the depleted battery. obviously,
your siren itself has died.

for 'light defective' alert, inventory all exterior bulbs to verify function. replace
malfunctioning bulb. (search this forum for list of bulbs to check)

Thanks Raymond. I will have to mess with the fuse this weekend.

I thought the same thing about the siren not working..... so i locked the door with the window down and reached inside to open the door and the siren does go off with the lights..... kinda odd.

hey, my lights flash (only), no siren when i hit the panic button on the remote.
i've not tried reaching in and opening the door. figured that the siren was
busted. but i'll try your idea now.

Would anyone have any idea which fuse it is? I have no book or diagram of which fuse to pull.

as for flat battery, either the battery itself is old (most likely if it's the original that came with the car over 10years ago!) therefore not holding charge OR the alternator which is responsible for charging the battery with engine on.
Kinda hard to diagonise without looking though...
The other issues sound pretty random, can't help you lol.

The battery itself is fine..... the flashing lights all night drain it.
