Smile Growling W210

I recently added the E55 AMG exhaust to my W210 (resonator deleted) and had the exhaust shop build custom Y pipes, cutout the bumper for a quad set up. The car sounds and looks great plus all four quad outlets are a 100% functional. The one item where I am needing some input is that now my W210 growls like a mad Rottweiler when idling, it isn’t very loud ,but reminds me of my Triumph motorcycle idle. Can this be fixed with a X or H pipe ? Please share any specific suggestions that will help me eliminate this idle growl .

Cheers

2001 E320 - RIP
pictures, mate! pictures, please! ...with the resonator delete, you will hear more of the exhaust (the less 'muffled' the more heard)... however, your top end is going to open up some....got sound clips?.... here are some options to help you complete your exhaust system and really open up the top end...make sure your cats are in good order and the o2 sensors too! .....enjoy the ride, cheers!

you will definitely get a more balanced sound with an X pipe. I'm assuming you have a sort of muscle car growl right now?

Without an X Pipe the Sound will be more like an V8-Sound...with the X Pipe the Sound is also loud but not as much V8 Sound...

Here are some Soundfiles of my W210 `02 E430 with different Sounds - i`ve got tested 4 different Exhausts :-)

+1 on pictures!

did you cut through the spare wheel well? I'm thinking about doing this very soon in my E320...

I'm a fan of keeping my centre resonator in place, but replacing the muffler with something with higher flow..

I will add some pictures soon, the shop did some custom bending and have a pipe running between the spare wheel well and the bumper that connects to the second dual outlets. Everything was spayed black so it all looks OEM with the bumper cut outs unless you get under the car or raise it on the lift.

Not sure how to record the sound bit kbad. My W210 is not as loud as yours Anatoli, it is much more mellow sound, but relly comes to life when I step on it.

Cheers
