Very Messed up Transmission!

Very Messed up Transmission!
One of my friend's dad has an E320 that his sister spilled some water in, right down into the console into the transmission. It wouldnt go into all of the gears, you had to turn it off to get it out of drive, it wouldnt shift past first, and it got stuck in reverse. Has anyone had a similar problem? What kind of damage do you think happened?

Hunt through the archives - you may have to go back to the old ones (pre-site facelift) - and look for cupholder / transmission failure posts. If I remember correctly, the CLK forum would be your best bet (but I could be wrong).
More than one person has had their tranny replaced under warranty when a drink toppled out of the cupholder.

Yeah, right.....go and search archives for a day or so, why not take car to a MB dealer and ask, htey will gladly answer and then if you want have them fix it if not keep riding in the first gear I do believe that is still faster then toyota "Solara" or something.
