My 1998 has a engine speed problem. When driving, rev limiter keeps the rpm from going past 4k. This is supposed to happen only in P or N. Dealer said MAF voltage is out of range and needs replacement. Replaced it, no change. no fault codes either. The ECU was replaced. I bought a used one and had it unlocked and reprogrammed for this car. Anyone experience this before? I am thinking there may be something with the gear indicator. Maybe the ECU thinks the car is in P still. Any thoughts?

Throttle Position Sensor? Is the car really slow and lags between pushing the pedal and accelerating? Does your cruise control work?

Car responds fine. Good power, no hesitation, until you hit 4k rpm. Then the car chokes. Once the rpm goes below 4k, runs fine again.
