Hey I like your pics alot but I had a question about your rims. What is the ride like with that low of a profile? Is their a noticable difference between those and the stocks? Thanks

Hey Vic55,

You have a very stiff setup. Tell us the truth! Don't you have to have your teeth tightened after every ride? Love the car!

Guys I only had the 18inch wheels for one day and then swapped to 19in AMG Monoblocks. It would be hard for me to make judgement on the factory wheels versus the 19's with the regular suspension because of the short period of time. What I can tell is that my new suspension is much better than the factory suspension and the ride has not deteriorated IMO. I actually feel its more comfortable especially at higher speeds. Of course you can get an even better suspension with the Kleeman but for everyday freeway and street driving you cant beat the combo and Bilsteins and the H&R's with the price they cost.

Sorry I couldnt give a better answer about the stock tires and wheels but T-Bone, a moderator at this site, has ridden in my car and couldnt believe how comfortable it was. I took him up and down a fairly beat up road too and he was impressed. IMO, the suspension and tires far outweigh any loss of comfort. I love the look of the E55 with a drop and 19's. The 18's just dont look big enough. Of course this is my take.

Vic55,

Again, you have referred to the Kleemann Suspension in a positive light. Have you experienced the Kleemann ride prior to your current setup. Do you feel the Kleemann better or different from AMG, Brabus, Carlsson, Lorinser or Renntech? Is it the ride quality or the lowering quality or both? Are the Kleemann dampers also made by Bilstein like most of the others? Thanks.

The Kleeman Springs retail for $385 and the dampers are $1680.

Hi all, this is my first reply, I have been following these forums
3-4 month with great interest.

The KLEEMANN dampers are not from Bilstein, they are hand made
and are not any thing like Bilstein, Sachs, Koni.
I had all above makes on my previous E class.:

I currently have an E430 with 18" AMG Monoblock II's and the same H&R/Bilstein setup as Vic55. I don't find the ride harsh at all. It was actually a ride in Vic's car that convinced me to get the setup. Firm, but still comfortable. And the handling is magnitudes better.

I talk to Simon (Mr. Vanos) every once-in-a-while and trust his judgement as he directed me towards the BBS LM wheels. He had nothing but good things to say about the Kleeman suspension. I personally have not tried the suspension but believe Mr. Vanos to give impartial opinions and based on his driving and racing experiences I have to believe they are awesome. I just don't think Ill need them for the type of driving I am doing and feel my setup achieves what I need to compensate my driving habits at this time. Plus they are not cheap.
