1998 e320 blower motor keeps running?

1998 e 320
1998 e320 blower motor keeps running?
The battery on my 1998 e320 4matic suddenly started going dead overnight. Battery checks fine(approx. 1 year old). Charges fine. Did amp test and pulled all fuses one at a time without decreasing amp draw. Last night i got in car and shut doors and could hear a faint motor noise. I traced it to the blower. I took the cover off and the blower motor is turning slowly without key in ignition. What tells it to shut off completely?

I think I have it solved. I installed a relay (cut red wireto blower motor) to key on power. This shuts power off to the blower motor and no more dead battery.

i think you have a bad blower motor regulator

Why you dont change it ?
